The fashion platform for peer-to-peer urban sharing

Common Closet is a platform for peer-to-peer sharing of fashion. It works with the concept of connected clothes, in which garments obtain an extra, virtual identity. This way, we can borrow, lend and give away clothes, without ever losing track of them.

It’s necessary to share and get the most use out of a garment as possible: with the effects of the fast fashion industry on our planet and people, our clothes can no longer remain in the wardrobe, untouched. The Common Closet provides access to a wardrobe full of clothes to choose from, offered by people nearby.

Common Closet is a project by Charlotte Kuijpers. It is based on the finding that young people are more willing to lend clothing, when they know they would be able to retrace the item, would it be needed.
